What is Direct Primary Care?

Most people over the course of a year need to see a doctor more than once. If you or your family member woke up tomorrow morning with a new medical problem that needs to be addressed soon, where would you go? Is that plan expensive, inconvenient, or untrustworthy?

The Reach Primary Care Approach

Reach Primary Care utilizes a new model of healthcare delivery called Direct Primary Care (DPC) to solve some of the biggest problems in healthcare in our city and our country.

How Does DPC Work?

By paying a low-cost monthly membership fee, you have unrestricted access to your personal physician. This is an alternative to the traditional model where you are billed through your insurance per visit, and insurance companies dictate the delivery of healthcare instead of you and your physician.

Benefits of the DPC Model

In the DPC model, insurance is taken out of the picture, and the cost of any necessary visits or communications with your physician is included in the membership. Furthermore, the cost of labs, medication, and imaging is often substantially reduced.

Why DPC Is Better for You

The best part of DPC is that you receive on-demand care from a physician who is not only qualified but knows you best. On-demand care means that when you wake up one morning with a cough and a fever, your problem gets addressed quickly, inexpensively, and in a personalized fashion. It also means that 20-minute visits are a thing of the past. We take the time that you need, when you need it, for as long as you need.

Think You Don’t Need DPC? Think Again!

You may be thinking, "I'm healthy, I don't need this," but we encourage you to consider not just the times you were seen in urgent care, the emergency room, and primary care, but also the times you wished you could have asked a doctor a question.

DPC vs. Traditional Healthcare

Studies show that the average American adult sees a doctor four times per year. In DPC, you are unrestricted from the traditional means of healthcare, and it can be as simple as a text, phone call, or email to your doctor. This model of care often saves you the cost and headache of navigating the ER and urgent care.

Proven Benefits of DPC

In a recent study, DPC membership compared to traditional insurance was shown to reduce urgent care visits by 40.6%, ER visits by 9.6%, hospitalizations by 92.7%, and outpatient hospital visits by 76.7%.
